I have it looking like an editing program

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Colors for site

The Colors I used will be light greys, light blue, red nothing to overwhelming

The Look of my Site

My site will look like a video editing program. I will use the color grey as a background. I will use basic fonts for the body. My Logo will be in the upper corner.

Monday, March 9, 2009

I want to both link to my Resume reel and some of my projects I also want to link to resume and experience.
I think i will try the video editing program concept and see if i can get it to work. I think this concept works very well for saying who i am and what i can do. Looking at the colors used in Adobe Premed it is gray black and blue numbers. The menu for my page will be where the effect menu is is the bottom left corner. My video options will where the video source monitors would be.

Logo choice.

Of the text I used the Carbon Block worked the best as the main logo trying to remember the text i used under it originally i found that Franklin Gothic Medium worked very well with the header. i also picked Arial as the text font. I also think the bluse i picked look very good with my logo.

D&R Canal

This Documentary explored the history of the Delaware and Raritan Canal.
This video explores the history and preservation of the canal. I am trying tell an important story about industry in the State of New Jersey. From the people who built it to the people who worked on it to the people who preserve it it all tells an important story

This is a wide shot of canal house in Griggstown. I wated to achive a wide preaspective of the area.

Bridge Keeper Station

The forgotten Bordentown section of the D&R canal adjacent to the scenic overlook on Interstate 295 it got cut off from the rest of the canal when the Canal was filled-in in the city of Trenton. Wanted to show the feel of isolation you get when you visit this place.

Bulls Island where water enters the Canal. I wanted to show a wide perspective of this area. I wanted to to the best of my ability in this show show how water flows into the feeder canal.

Canal House where the bridge and loch tenders lived. Abandon and in need of Restoration in East Millstone.

FoRMATS

1 I think a web site with my experience listed and a links to my reel and other projects this would be the best way to advertise myself.

2 To send out email to companies tho have advised jobs can be very important way to distribute your resume.

3 Having a DVD Reel to send out to employers who have posted jobs i very important.

4 CD and Mini CDs could only help ve if i wanted to send files or video files to a company I am not sure if this is very helpful to me.

5 Zip Disk are now almost obsolete memory cars might serve the same purpose but a CD Mini CD can do the same thing.
I think my work shows that have editing & creative skills i can offer. Both my Canal documentary and TV4 Movie demonstrate the type of work i am capable of and i hope to build on this.

Companies

I am looking for companies that need editors. I am looking for companies that do editing and video production work. The size of the company is not that important to me. Though it would be nice in some ways to find a company in New Jersey I am willing to move if given the opportunity. I think i can give them a dependable and talented computer editor.

Entry Level Jobs

I have found that entry level jobs PA jobs are part time it is very hard to relocate for a partime Job. But they may be the only way to get you foot in the door. The same part time Jobs in New Jork And Phildelphia are more competitive and harder to get your foot in the door. In many of these jobs you opperate studio cameras some want video editing skills.

I have also foudn that web design jobs are looking for much more experince and a better porfolio then i have.

Digital Editing technology, software and hardware

For digital editing you need to have a good understanding of computers. Digital editing programs include Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro and Avid. I am very experienced with Adobe Premiere. I find most job listings are for Final Cut pro witch I have word with in one of my classes a few years ago, but I don’t own a Mac so I can not buy it for home. At one time many places used Avid but it’s popularity seems to have decreased over the past decade though I think it is still used by many movies studios.
